About The Meeting
Dear friends and colleagues:
On behalf of the EGVRS, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 18th Egyptian Vitreoretinal Society (EGVRS) Meeting that will be held on 25-27 November 2020 at the Movenpick Hotel, in the Ancient City of Aswan along the banks of the glorious River Nile.
EGVRS is considered to be the most prominent vitreoretinal society in the Middle East. This has been achieved through our continuous educational and scientific activities and maintaining a high standard of our scientific content. Our aim is to keep it as one of the landmark Retina Meetings in the region.
We are proud to have distinguished international guest speakers from the USA, Europe, and the Middle East and we are also proud to have the Vitreoretinal Society of India (VRS-I) as a partner in this meeting.
We are proud to present a very interesting program with distinguished faculty. The meeting format aims at creating interactive fruitful discussions about down to Earth, real-life challenges that all Retina specialist meets in their daily practice. Surgeons will even confess their sins in our surgical courtroom.
Inspired by the mystique of the magic of Pharaonic Egypt, we will experience Mystery retina on the Nile, deciphering OCTA signs and unlocking the curse of pharaohs in surgical challenges. The journey of this meeting will take your breath away as we plunge into the abyss of surprises of macular holes and even down to sub-retinal space to visit the underworld and get a glimpse of the afterlife!. We are continuing our tradition with the EGVRS Film Festival competition and Retina surgeons will dig deep into themselves to show their hidden artistic talents side by side their surgical skills to win the Golden Pharaoh Award!
We will even reverse the time machine to travel from ancient times back to the future to know what are the latest fashion and trends in retina practice in 2020!
The highlight of the meeting is to celebrate the current leading role of Female retina surgeons and medical retina specialists in 2020 in the world and in Egypt. We are proud to host a great line up of Female retina doctors for the first time which will make it a landmark meeting.
We hope that you will enjoy the Congress and that your interaction with your colleagues will stimulate creative exchange of ideas and will be personally rewarding.
Our aim is not just to learn a new technique, but to leave this meeting and you have made many more good friends.
Looking forwards to meet you in Aswan, The City of Queens and Kings.
