Keynote guests, I’d like to personally welcome each of you to the Annual Day of the Ophthalmology Department, Kasr El-Ainy Hospital – Cairo University, which will take place on the 20th & 21st of December, 2018 at the prestigious Grand Nile Tower Hotel, on the banks of the beautiful Nile River in the heart of Cairo.
For more than sixty years, this conference has been held annually, and since that time Kasr El-Ainy’s Ophthalmology Department, has always been a beacon of light, guiding the ophthalmic community in Egypt with its wealth of knowledge.
The Conference program will be both exciting and ground-breaking in its wide-ranging and multidisciplinary content. This rich program is spread over 2 days at 2 different venues:
The 1st day, 20th of December at (LRC, Kasr El Aini Hospital) will include many courses and hands-on workshops covering most of the ophthalmic subspecialties as well as the rapidly growing investigative field.
The 2nd day, 21st of December at (The Grand Nile Tower Hotel) will have several sessions:
“Videos and case presentation” session early morning. Followed by our main session: “Ophthalmology from Pole to Pole” where diverse work in all subspecialties will be presented, and ended by the unique “Breaking news” session, which received an excellent feedback last year.
Also this year we are glad to announce the new “Memorial Lecture”. Whereas, a comprehensive lecture will be dedicated to one of our great professors. This year it will be dedicated to honor the memory of our great late Professor, Prof. Dr. Nabil El-Guindi.
We finally thought our conference lacks a bit of a funny side! So we decided this year to include the “KFC” session, “Kasr El-Ainy Film Challenge” a novel session about artistic funny ophthalmic videos, and we hope you all attend to discover new talents in the field of the ever so serious doctors and professors!
Recognition should go to the “Scientific Committee” members who have all worked extremely hard on the details of important aspects of the conference programs and other activitiesThroughout this conference, I ask you to stay engaged, keep us proactive and help us shape the future of Ophthalmology.
My personal respect and thanks goes out to all of you.
Prof. Dr. Tarek Katamish
Professor & Head of Ophthalmology Department
